The Mecanno Multi 50 Model Set is a truly comprehensive Meccano best of set which includes a 6V power tool, a 6V motor and a whopping 605 pieces, including many moving parts. There are instructions for a massive 50 models. The feature model is an articulated crane with motorised winch. Other models include a motorised street sweeper, motorised crawling insect, aircraft, helicopters and vehicles.

Meccano is a name that brings back many memories for all generations. Recognisable at first glance as a timeless brand, this classic construction system has always managed to keep abreast of current day trends.

It all began back in 1898 in a small Liverpool shop where Franck Hornby took pleasure inventing a construction game for his children using screws and nuts. This gave rise to the MECCANO system in 1901.
Franck Hornby finalised his system and marketed it under the brand name 'Mechanics Made Easy'. The name MECCANO was registered in 1907.The first MECCANO factory opened in Liverpool that same year.
